Three years ago, the Georgian Parliament made a decision about the war in Ukraine. The main goal was to stop the war.
The resolution said that Georgia supported Ukraine and respected its freedom. It also warned of the dangers of war. Many people did not agree with this resolution. They thought it was not strong enough against Russia.
Some people even wanted to send volunteers to fight in Ukraine and impose sanctions on Russia. But now, three years later, we can see who was right and who was wrong.
The Speaker of Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, wrote about this on Facebook. He said that those who did not support the resolution were wrong. They would have been mourning or killed if they had gotten what they wanted.
Papuashvili thinks that time has shown that the Georgian government’s decision was correct. It was made to protect the country and its people.
