Shalva Papuashvili is the chairman of the parliament. He says that some non-governmental organisations are unable to find arguments to implement their goals and are struggling to deal with the moss the Georgian people has seen for a very long time. Papuashvili, at today’s press briefing, spoke about the disinformation campaigns regarding the elections. He noted that it shows the extent of fraud perpetrated by some NGOs.
“This is the third series in which the opposition, a few millionaire NGOs, and their foreign patrons watch the Georgians. History is said to repeat itself, first as tragedy, then as farce. Tragically, exactly four years ago the same history of the rigged election was repeated. Yesterday was November 3. In four years, on November 3, 2021, the historic meeting took place at the studio of “Mtavari Akhi“, the opposition party. They signed a promise that they would never enter the parliament, and then they began, and everyone entered. It’s a joke and it keeps repeating itself. Same actors. The same production director. “They think that everyone understands the farce, but everyone knows it very well,” said Papuashvili.
According to the chairman of the parliament, the information being spread is disinformation as if there was a violation of secrecy during the election. He gave the examples of Poland, Bulgaria and Lithuania. In these countries the ballot box is transparent and there is no envelope.
“Yesterday you know, the opposition watched in amazement as the elections in Moldova were held. We saw a photo of a semi transparent box, but the ballots did not fit into the envelope. What does the “Association of Young Lawyers“, i.e., the “Association of Young Lawyers”, think should be done about the Moldovan presidential elections? GYLA has promised this to the Moldovans? It is yet another example of the fraud that we have to deal with from some NGOs. They can’t find any arguments to support their political goals and are struggling with moss. But the mushroom is something that the Georgians have been seeing for a very long time. This is the problem. Non-governmental organisations, especially those who call themselves monitoring organizations and operate on foreign funding, were heavily involved in the campaign to achieve a certain election result. They were against the “Georgian Dream“, and now that this result has not been achieved, they are using their own foreign funding in order to take away voters’ choices from Georgians, Moldovans, Bulgarians, Lithuanians and Polishs,” Papuashvili stated.
He said that donors are responsible for this. Shalva Papuashvili said that “it’s their money which undermines democracy”.
