There are still 335,000 residents in the region.
Since the beginning of Russia’s all-out conflict against Ukraine, more than 1 million civilians from the Donetsk Oblast have been evacuated. The territory is currently under the control of the Ukrainian government. Dmytro Pellin, head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration Department of Civil Protection’s operational duty service, told Ukrinform that only 335,000 people remained in the region.
Donetsk Oblast is constantly bombarded by Russian forces. Homes, businesses, energy and gas infrastructure, and other infrastructure are destroyed. The frontline in the region stretches for around 300 kilometers.
“During the evacuation of the territory of Donetsk Oblast which is currently under Ukrainian Control, around 1.161 millions people left the area.” Petlin said that 185,500 of them were children and almost 46,000 had disabilities.
He said that residents of Donetsk Oblast were evacuated with the help of government officials at all levels, voluntary formations, volunteers and on their own since the beginning of Russia’s full scale invasion.
Petlin said that “as of today, approximately 335,000 people are still in the territory of Donetsk Oblast which is under Ukrainian control.”
He also added that daily evacuations are carried out.
In the region, there is a continuing requirement for civilians to evacuate. Children and their families are being forced to evacuate from many settlements near frontlines.
