**Russia Pauses Mass Drone Attacks Against Ukraine**
For the first time in 2025, Russian forces did not launch a mass drone strike against Ukrainian civilian targets overnight on April 1. The Air Force reported that only two Kh-59/69 guided missiles were launched, targeting Zaporizhzhia Oblast. However, these missiles were reportedly shot down.
**Limited Damage Reported**
Despite the pause in mass drone strikes, Russian drones continued to engage Ukrainian forces in front-line operations. The General Staff of Ukraine’s Armed Forces reported the destruction of 46 Russian operational-tactical drones over the past 24 hours. Some officials from Dnipropetrovsk Oblast reported limited damage from drone attacks against their region.
**Russian Forces Continue Attacks**
However, Russian forces continued to attack Ukrainian towns and villages with other weaponry, including KAB bombs and artillery, inflicting civilian casualties. This follows an agreement on an energy ceasefire concluded by Ukraine, Russia, and the U.S. in Riyadh on March 25.
**International Reaction**
The development comes as German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock announced additional humanitarian support for Ukraine amounting to 130 million euros ($140 million). The move is seen as a response to Russian forces’ repeated attacks on Ukrainian civilian targets, allegedly including energy facilities.
