Solidarity Rally Held in Tkibuli
A rally was held in front of the municipality building in Tkibuli to show support for miners who lost their jobs. The miners claim they were dismissed because of their political views.
Around 40 miners were laid off recently during a holiday period. They say the decision was made by “Saknakhshiri”, but they don‘t specify what his title is. The miners plan to take legal action against this decision.
A banner at the rally read: “It’s time for Tkibuli to speak up!” One miner spoke out, saying he was dismissed because of his online comments and social media posts. He claims he received many warnings before being let go.
Representatives from the cultural sector came to Tkibuli from the capital to show their support. They attended the rally alongside the miners.
