Shalva Papuashvili, Speaker of the House, met with Dimitrios Karabalis, newly appointed Head Mission for the European Union Monitoring Mission in Georgia.
Speaker Papuashvili congratulated Greek diplomat on his appointment and expressed Georgian Parliament’s commitment to work closely with the Mission. The parties emphasized the importance of the EUMM, as the only international representative and impartial source of information in the area. Karabalis thanked Speaker for his support of the Mission, and emphasized that the EU will continue to contribute to the stability of the region by extending the mission’s mandate to December 2022. The parties then discussed the EUMM’s activities and the recent developments in the region.
