Natia Ioseliani is the spokesperson for the Central Election Commission. She believes that the “Fair Elections‘ organization’s statement regarding the gender statistics among the voters participating in voting is inaccurate, manipulative, and misleading.
Ioseliani, in his briefing today, called for “fair elections” and, instead of trying sow false perceptions, he called on the full publication of the results of the parallel count, after which speculations about voter turnout, statistics regarding gender, and the general election results would finally be put to rest.
“Due the high level of public interest, we respond once again to the incorrect, misleading and manipulative statement of the organization Fair Elections regarding the gender statistics of voters participating in the election. The CEC’s response to the information that was spread yesterday by the organization was based on real facts and legal norms, which excluded the opinion the difference in the levels of activity between male and female voting on election day deviated significantly from the normal distribution. Nino Dolidze issued a misleading and incorrect statement despite this. He acted as if CEC’s statement had confirmed his opinions. The preliminary data on the voter turnout sent by polling stations at 20:00 is what determines the actual number of voters participating in the voting. The summary minutes of the voting result of the Precinct Election Commission contain the final data about the voters participating in elections.
The CEC informed the public that the gender statistics were not official data. These were included in the result summary protocols. The registrars do not count the data for electoral purposes but for gender statistics. This may differ slightly from the actual gender activity which is only conducted in a few voting stations. There are 11 polling places where the number for women voting was incorrectly sent by the precinct elections commissions the day before the election. This mistake affected 150 voters. Our website has detailed information. We would also like to remind the public of the fact that “Fair Elections”, the organization that carried out the parallel counting, stated that its results were in line with the official preliminary results of CEC. We therefore call on “Fair Elections” to publish the full results of the parallel count, instead of trying sow false perceptions. This will end speculations about voter turnout, statistics, gender, and other statistics, and the general election results.
