**No New Aid Bill for Ukraine, Says US House Speaker**
The US House Speaker, Mike Johnson, has said there is no appetite for another assistance bill for Ukraine. This comes amid growing tensions between Washington and Kyiv.
**US President Trump’s Role in Mediation**
US President Donald Trump has been trying to mediate a peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia. However, he has used increasingly hostile rhetoric toward Kyiv, accusing Ukraine of starting the war and calling President Volodymyr Zelensky a “dictator without elections”.
**Johnson Supports Trump’s Plan**
House Speaker Johnson is a strong supporter of President Trump. He said that the US needs to end the war in Ukraine as soon as possible. Johnson thinks that the European allies also understand the importance of ending the conflict, which has been going on for too long.
**US Aid to Ukraine**
In the past, House Speaker Johnson had delayed aid to Kyiv by refusing to hold a vote on various iterations of a foreign assistance bill. However, he eventually reached a deal to pass the legislation in April 2024.
**Unclear Plans to End the War**
President Trump’s plan to end the war remains unclear. His special envoy for Ukraine and Russia, Keith Kellogg, said that the war could end this year, but no concrete decisions were announced after recent talks between American and Russian delegations in Saudi Arabia.
