Shalva , the Speaker of the Georgian has released information on the messages he delivered his video to the participants at the Third Parliamentary Summit for the Crimean International Platform. According to him, he spoke of the importance of finding an answer and wished Ukrainians ‘just peace.’ Peace is the central theme of the ruling Georgian Party.
“Russia’s on a large scale against Ukraine shocked many,” said Speaker. “We, Georgians have stood by our Ukrainians since the beginning of the war, and we will continue to do so because no one knows the pain of war or the price of peace better than us.”
He said that the start of the conflict was a “wake up call” for many nations: “We warned partners that the international system failed to prevent wars in Georgia and Ukraine and has failed to guarantee a just and lasting peace,” he stated.
“The awakening that came after the war prompted many partners to look for ways to prevent such tragedies in future,” Papuashvili continued. He said that it is “good” that the world is now looking for future solutions “that must be founded on a just, lasting peace.”
“We must, based on the size and capacity of our country, take our share and work for peace, to support Ukraine’s sovereignty and independence, and to ensure a fair solution to this raging conflict,” wrote Speaker.
“I wish my Ukrainian sisters and brothers peace and a thorough and rapid restoration of all that was destroyed by war,” he wrote.
