The Georgian State Security Service is investigating criminal acts, including preparations for the assassination Bidzina, honorary chairman of Georgian Dream, and “the organization and funding of former high-ranking Georgian officials and former employees of Ukrainian law enforcement agencies,” – according to a State Security Service statement released on Wednesday.
The SSSG states that the criminal actions are intended to overthrow state governments by violent means, carried out by destructive powers, in order to create disorder and weaken the government.
“The State Security Service is investigating the fact of preparing for a terrorist act, and conspiracy to overthrow state government. This crime is stipulated in the first part of Articles 18-323 and 315 of the Civil Code of Georgia.
The SSSG released a statement that reads: “Active investigative measures and operational searches are being conducted, within which specific individuals are being summoned as witnesses to the investigating body for questioning.”
