SSSG: Videos of officials generated by AI will be leaked before elections

The State Security Service of Georgia (SSSG), in a statement issued on October 16, claimed that “groups connected to political circles” would release a “artificially produced” video and audio of Georgian with the goal of “creating a conflict between the branches of government, as well creating strife and tension between the Orthodox and the government as well as worsening the between the Government and its Partners.”
The SSSG stated that it “feels obligated” towards the public to share these information in order to “preserve state security and peaceful coexistence between “. The Agency said that this content would be distributed a few weeks before the parliamentary election on October 26th and will be presented to the public as a leaked video from the SSSG.
“…they believe that the said action would discredit the Agency and create dissonance among the branches of government. The main purpose of this provocation is to artificially stir up protests, create hubs of instability in the country that will be used political reasons,” reads a statement from the SSSG.
The Agency stated that it closely monitors the actions of these group and will act in accordance to the law in any violation.
