**U.K. Prime Minister Warns Putin**
The U.K.’s Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, says Russian President Vladimir Putin will break a peace deal with Ukraine if there are no security guarantees in place.
Starmer made these comments at the Northwood military base outside London on March 20. He said that past experiences have shown that a peace deal without any backing is not reliable.
“If it’s just words and nothing else, then Putin will breach it,” Starmer stated.
**Warning to Putin**
Starmer also issued a warning to Putin. He said that if Russia breaks the lines, there will be severe consequences.
“We need to make clear that there will be serious outcomes for him if he breaks this agreement,” he added.
**U.K.’s Military Plan**
The U.K. is considering providing military support to Ukraine. This could include land, sea, and air support to help reinforce Ukrainian capabilities.
“We’re not talking about replacing their capability, but rather adding to it and protecting it from all sides,” Starmer explained.
This move deviates from previous statements made by Starmer on March 15. He then called for a peacekeeping contingent of 10,000 troops provided by the U.K. and France.
**International Talks**
There are upcoming talks between Russia and Ukraine scheduled to take place in Saudi Arabia on March 24. These negotiations will be led by the U.S.
A separate meeting in Paris is planned for March 27, where European leaders, including French President Emmanuel Macron, will discuss peacekeeping efforts.
