US Envoy to Visit Ukraine as Part of European Tour
U.S. President Donald Trump‘s special envoy for Ukraine and Russia, Keith Kellogg, will visit Ukraine soon. He is part of a group traveling to Germany, Belgium, and Ukraine from February 13 to 22.
The US State Department said that Kellogg will meet with officials and civilians affected by the war in Ukraine. The war has been going on for nearly three years. He will also attend a conference in Munich.
This visit comes as President Trump is trying to negotiate an end to Russia’s war against Ukraine. Last week, Trump spoke with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin. They want to stop the fighting that has caused millions of deaths.
Trump said he will have his team, including Marco Rubio and Michael Waltz, lead the negotiations. But it seems he made a mistake by not mentioning Kellogg in this group.
The US Vice President and Secretary of State will meet with Zelensky on February 14 to start official talks. The two leaders are expected to talk about ending the war at a conference in Munich.
Zelensky will lead Ukraine’s team at the conference, where Trump’s team is supposed to explain their plan for peace.
