I would like to comment about the recent events surrounding Mtavari Arkhi.
I would like to point out that on October 15 a report prepared by Courier of TV channel Rustavi-2 revealed my letter sent to National Bank without consent. This was done by a protected institution such as the National Bank.
I sent this letter to the National Bank after six months without receiving any response from the management of Mtavari arkhi or New Sales. Despite my written and personal communications, nothing has changed to bring the Mtavari Arkhi or New Sales back into compliance with the legal framework.
It is strange that Mtavari arkhi’s responsible individuals do not express their concern or demand an answer from the National Bank regarding how such a protected organization delivered my letter to media, specifically to the Rustavi TV channel, in violation of the law.
In relation to the statement issued on behalf of Mtavari, I would like to mention that, according to Mtavari’s statute, the company is currently represented by two directors, Giorgi Gabunia, and myself, Giorgi Curdadze, who have representative authority only together. In accordance with the law, my signature and official approval as a director should have been included in the statement. Instead of issuing a declaration on behalf of Mtavari Archkhi, the relevant individual or persons should have issued the statement in their name.
Omega Group has transferred all the material and equipment that Iberia TV used to broadcast to Mtavari Arkhi after the Iberia TV team, which was a part of the Omega Group in 2019, was replaced by a team that came from Rustavi 2.
Mtavari Arkhi started broadcasting soon after under the leadership Nika Gvaramia. Unfortunately, during his almost five-year directorship, he led the channel into an unfortunate financial situation. The fraudulent schemes described by me in my letter to National Bank, and the activities of New Sales, led to budgetary debts that today exceed 11 millions GEL for Mtavari Arkhi.
This has also caused harm to Mtavari Arkhi founder, who nominated and invested millions GEL in the capital of the company.
Gvaramia also squandered millions GEL from the Omega Group. This led to the current financial collapse in which employees of Mtavari arkhi do not receive their salaries and the company has accrued additional debts. All of this happened while Nika Gvaramia was receiving a salary of over 70,000 GEL per month, plus other benefits, as well as an inflated number of employees.
I will not elaborate on the illegal circulation of black currency brought in by Koba Nakopia to launder cash, as I did in my letter to National Bank. Instead, I want to focus on the state of Mtavari Arkhi.
Nika Gvaramia is the de facto editor-in-chief of Mtavari arkhi. She has no right to interfere with the editorial policy. Mtavari arkhi is viewed by viewers as being unbalanced and biased.
Mtavari Arkhi, as it is today, is a purely party-oriented television station owned by Nika Gvaramia that indirectly serves Ivanishvili’s interests.
It gives the impression the current Mtavari Arkhi, and its de-facto manager, are part of Ivanishvili’s backup plan. This is why Nika Gvaramia has been able to get immunity and support from the state institutions for the illegal acts he committed that I described in my email sent to the National Bank.
His threat to “break me head and bring nothing good even after the change in government” is an indication of this. I asked for documentation proving the source of the cash that he brought into Mtavari.
Ivanishvili is the owner of Mtavari Arkhi, the channel’s director, and the representative of its founder. Ivanishvili has caused me enormous losses and I am still fighting him in international court battles. I cannot ignore the fact that this channel serves Ivanishvili indirectly, even though it is not popular to say so.
The slanderous and populist remarks that were made yesterday against me, as well the election speculations from opposition party representatives, are all baseless. They only serve to hide the crimes I have documented evidence of, and which unfortunately continue at Mtavari under Ivanishvili’s protection.
