**Citizens Take Justice into Their Own Hands**
The government is trying to make people take the law into their own hands, says Ivana Stevanovic from the “Slavko Ćuruvija” Foundation. This also applies to the regime’s media, which she believes has become a tool for attacking citizens.
**Ignoring Problems Won’t Make Them Go Away**
At first, the government tried to ignore everything that was happening, hoping it would just go away on its own. But Stevanovic says this is not working and the situation is getting worse.
**More Repression Ahead**
As things progress, we can expect more repression from the government, according to Stevanovic. She believes that the latest attack on students in Novi Sad has shown that the city is becoming a center for thugs and groups created by the government to deal with dissenters.
**Twisting Reality**
The government is now using its power to twist reality and turn victims into criminals, says Stevanovic. This includes turning people who are fighting for freedom and rights into thugs or destroyers of the constitutional order.
**Media No Longer Media?**
When asked about the media’s role in the latest attack on students, Stevanovic said that unfortunately, the media is no longer responsible. She believes that the videos shown on Pink TV and the article in Kurir are just examples of how the media has become a tool for attacking citizens.
**No Institution to Turn To**
Stevanovic also pointed out that there is currently no institution where people can turn to address these issues, from the REM to the Prosecutor‘s Office. This has led some citizens to take matters into their own hands when it comes to the media.
