Russian Missile Attack Causes Heavy Casualties
A missile strike in Russia has resulted in the deaths of 18 military personnel and injured 33 others. The attack occurred on November 20th at an underground facility in Maryino, Kursk Oblast.
The victims included Lieutenant General Valery Solodchuk, a senior Russian commander who previously led Russia’s forces in the Donbas region. Three North Korean representatives were also wounded in the strike.
Russian officers from the Southern and Eastern Military Districts were among those killed or injured. The presence of high-ranking personnel during cleanup operations suggests that there may be additional casualties beyond those reported.
The attack was carried out using a Storm Shadow missile, which is a type of precision-guided munition.
