**Opposition Parties Urged to Leave Parliament**
The leadership of the party “Strong Georgia” has made a decision to cancel its electoral lists and withdraw from parliament. Party leader Mamuka Khazaradze says this will stop people making up stories about what is happening.
Khazaradze wants all opposition parties who are in parliament to join him and leave at the same time. He believes this will make it clear that they do not want to be part of the current government.
**Decision Made by Party**
The party’s political council voted today and approved the decision to cancel its electoral lists and withdraw from parliament. All members of the council agreed with this decision.
**Leaving Parliament Together**
Khazaradze says it is very important that opposition parties do not allow the current government to be recognized as legitimate. He believes they should all leave parliament at the same time, using a law that allows them to cancel their membership if the new parliament recognizes its powers.
**Law Allows Early Withdrawal**
According to Georgian law, members of parliament can withdraw early if they ask to do so in writing. This can happen after the first session of the new parliament, when the authority of the newly elected members is recognized.
Khazaradze’s statement says: “We propose that all forces who have received mandates in a lawful manner, jointly and simultaneously implement this procedural action and together request the closure of lists and vacate the mandates to the relevant agencies. This will put an end to interpretations and not allow anyone to speculate on this topic.”
