**Workers Protest Over Public Transport Issues in Belgrade**
A group of workers from the Belgrade City Public Transport Company (GSP) took to the streets on Wednesday morning. They were joined by citizens and students who showed their support for the protesters’ demands.
The GSP workers marched from their depot in the Dorcol neighborhood to the Belgrade City Assembly. Their goal was to present their concerns to city officials, including the mayor, the president of the City Assembly, and the acting secretary of the Public Transport Secretariat.
**What Do They Want?**
The workers have four main demands:
1. Stop all plans to eliminate trolleybuses from public transport.
2. Guarantee that the trolleybus depot in Dorcol will remain under GSP’s control.
3. Buy 100 new, modern trolleybuses to meet the city’s needs.
4. Review contracts that allowed private companies to take over some city routes.
**Union Leader Speaks Out**
The head of the GSP Belgrade Center Union, Ivan Bankovic, said that these demands are legitimate and important for everyone in Belgrade. He noted that public transport is a crucial service that should not be disrupted.
Bankovic also emphasized that public transport will operate as usual on Wednesday. The protesters want to minimize any inconvenience to residents of Belgrade.
**What’s Next?**
The city officials have seven days to respond to the workers’ demands. If they do not receive a satisfactory answer, GSP employees may consider going on strike. However, they promise to follow the law and avoid negatively impacting citizens.
