**Serbian Students on Bicycles Arrive in Strasbourg, Receive Warm Welcome**
On Tuesday night, a column of Serbian students on bicycles crossed into France from Germany and arrived at their final destination, the city of Strasbourg. The students had been riding for weeks, covering over 1,400 kilometers through several European countries to get there.
**A Emotional Reunion**
The students were led by nine girl riders, some of whom wore pink vests made for them by Serbians in Germany. As they entered the square, the students raised their bicycles above their heads and were met with a loud welcome from the crowd. The European anthem “Ode to Joy” was performed by a combined choir of adults and children, followed by the Serbian national anthem. A student even called his fellow riders heroes.
**Journalist Celebrated**
NOVA S/N1 reporter Radovan Seratlic, who had ridden with the students all the way from Novi Sad, was lifted onto the arms of several students and thrown into the air in celebration. Water was poured over him as he was cheered by the crowd. This warm welcome reminded him of traditional crowd greetings for athletes returning with medals in central Belgrade.
**International Support**
The ride had started on November 3 from Novi Sad, and the students had cycled through Hungary, Slovakia, Austria, and Germany to get to France. The event has received international support, with supporters riding bicycles from the Netherlands, Denmark, Germany, and Switzerland to reach Strasbourg in a show of solidarity for the 80 students.
**Crowd Gathers in Strasbourg**
A large crowd had gathered in Strasbourg’s central Place Kleber to welcome the students. Local media reported that over a thousand people, mainly Serbians living in France, were in attendance. Slovenian MEP Irena Joveva was among them, speaking about the student protests in the European Parliament.
**Italian Pianist Performs**
The celebration also featured Italian pianist Davide Martello, who had played at a protest in Nis and had caught up with the bike riders in Germany. He performed Serbian songs in the square, adding to the festive atmosphere.
As the students arrived in Strasbourg, they were met with an outpouring of love and support from the crowd. The ride has been a remarkable display of solidarity and determination by the 80 students who cycled through several European countries to make their voices heard.
