**Students Protest in Front of Novi Sad City Assembly**
A group of university students gathered in front of the Novi Sad City Assembly on Monday to protest. They were upset because the city assembly had not met to adopt the city’s budget.
The city assembly session was canceled at short notice on Sunday night. The Speaker, Dina Vucinic, said that opposition parties were trying to cause chaos and included students in their plans. She also claimed that families who lost loved ones in a recent accident asked her not to let the students protest.
**Students Hold Mock Session**
The students held a mock session in front of the City Assembly. They voted on items of an agenda, which included removing the Mayor and Speaker from power, as well as adopting student demands. The voting was done by raising their student books in the air.
The students then made a lot of noise and displayed banners with messages like “Your Hands Are Bloody” and pictures of President Aleksandar Vucic with a student book and basketball. They also put stickers with a red hand symbol on police shields.
**Police Deployed**
A cordon of police in riot gear was deployed in front of the City Assembly to keep the students away from the building. The protest ended with 15 minutes of silence, remembering the 15 people who died in a recent accident at Novi Sad Railway Station.
