**Students Pedaling for Justice Reach Hungary**
A group of students on bicycles from Novi Sad, Serbia, made their way into Hungarian town Dunaújváros last Friday evening. Over the course of the day, they covered an impressive 137 kilometers.
The students were separated into smaller groups by local authorities in Hungary, and were not provided with a police escort or allowed to use major roads. Despite this, they remained in high spirits, singing and chanting slogans like “To Strasbourg We Go” and “Meet Our Demands.” Their message is simple: “Pedaling for Justice.”
In just two days, the students have covered over 250 kilometers of their journey. On Saturday, they plan to ride on to Budapest, a distance of 91 kilometers.
**A Message from the Students**
One of the students, who wished to be identified only by his first name Djordje, spoke with our reporter about the significance of their trip. He revealed that they are carrying a letter addressed to officials at the European Union and Council of Europe. The letter details the events that have unfolded since the tragedy at Novi Sad Railway Station on November 1st, including protests and related events in Belgrade.
According to Djordje, the students’ goal is to bring attention to serious violations of freedom of speech in Serbia, as well as other laws. They plan to meet with EU officials in Strasbourg, where they will discuss their concerns in person.
