**Serbia‘s Biggest Unions Back University Students**
Five of Serbia’s largest unions have come together to support university students who are protesting. The meeting was held at Belgrade University‘s School of Philosophy.
The Sloga, Alliance of Independent Unions, United Branch Unions Nezavisnost, Association of Free and Independent Unions, and Confederation of Free Unions met on Saturday. They agreed to work together to make changes to two important laws: the Labor Law and the Law on Strikes.
In a joint statement, the unions said they are supporting the students’ demands. They also decided to form a special group of lawyers to help draft proposals for these law changes.
The first meeting of this working group will take place later this week at Belgrade University’s Law School.
