There were big explosions and a fire at the Sudzha gas metering station in Russia’s Kursk Oblast. This happened on the night of March 21.
People have been sharing footage online that shows the burning station after the attack. According to Russian sources, the fire was even visible from the border between Kursk and Sumy regions.
The Kyiv Independent couldn’t check if these claims are true.

The Sudzha station used to be important for exporting gas through Ukraine to Europe. But Ukraine stopped accepting Russian gas since then.

Russia hasn’t said anything officially about the incident. Some Russian Telegram-based media outlets, like Mash and Baza, are blaming Ukraine for the attack.

Ukrainian forces have been targeting Russia’s oil industry, ammunition depots, and military airfields to disrupt supply chains that help fund Russia’s war efforts. Fossil fuel exports are a big source of revenue for the Kremlin’s military operations.
