**Sweden Supports Ukraine’s Demining and Drone Efforts**
The Swedish government has allocated 80 million Swedish kronor, or $7.6 million, to support Ukraine’s demining and drone efforts.
**Funding for Demining and Drones**
This funding will be split evenly between the capability coalitions for drones and mine clearance. It is part of Sweden’s 18th military aid package to Ukraine.
**Sweden’s Defense Minister Speaks Out**
Swedish Defense Minister Pal Jonson said, “This support ensures that Ukraine can develop its drone technology and mine clearance capabilities. It will help the Ukrainian army and society.”
**Ukraine Remains the Most Mined Country in the World**
Despite ongoing hostilities, Ukraine has reduced the area considered as potentially hazardous by over 35,000 square kilometers since February 2022.
**Human Cost of Mines**
According to U.N. monitors, some 399 civilians have been killed and 915 injured by mines since Russia’s full-scale invasion began.
