**Sweden to Provide $137.7 Million in Humanitarian Aid to Ukraine**
Sweden’s International Development Minister Benjamin Dousa announced on March 13 that the country will provide over 1.4 billion Swedish kronor ($137.7 million) in humanitarian aid to Ukraine. This is Sweden’s largest civilian support package to date.
The funds will be used for various purposes, including energy supply, housing, medical care, mine clearance, safe schooling, vocational training, and veteran support. Dousa said that the goal of this support is to strengthen Ukraine’s resilience.
**Sweden’s Total Support to Ukraine**
In 2025, Sweden’s total support to Ukraine will account for 14 percent of its overall development assistance budget. This shows Sweden’s commitment to helping Ukraine recover from the ongoing conflict with Russia.
**Other Developments**
Finland announced on March 13 that it will provide a military aid package valued at approximately 200 million euros ($217.4 million) to Ukraine. The United States is also preparing to resume shipping long-range Ground-Launched Small Diameter Bombs (GLSDB) to Ukraine.
Russia has been facing tougher sanctions from the US, with the Trump administration not renewing an exemption that allowed Russian banks to access US payment systems for energy transactions. A Russian drone strike on Kharkiv injured at least seven people.
**Western Companies Support Ukraine**
McDonald’s Ukraine announced plans to reopen storefronts across the country, following other Western companies that have expanded their offerings to Ukrainian customers amid the ongoing war.
