Russia’s Ammunition Use Cut in Half, Ukraine Says
Russia is using much less ammunition than before, thanks to Ukrainian strikes on Russian territory. According to Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi, Russia is now firing around 20,000 rounds per day, down from 40,000 previously.
Ukraine has been targeting key industries in Russia, such as those that make ammunition and oil refineries. This strategy aims to weaken Russia’s ability to wage war in Ukraine.
Despite being outgunned by Russian forces, Ukraine is making progress in arms production. The country now produces about 33-34% of its annual weapons needs, up from less than 10% before the full-scale invasion.
The majority of Ukraine’s weaponry comes from Europe and the U.S., which supply more than 60%. Ukraine is also working on developing its own air defense systems to protect against Russian missile attacks.
