**Ukraine’s Military Leader Condemns Violence Against Recruitment Centers**
Ukraine’s Commander-in-Chief, Oleksandr Syrskyi, spoke out against recent violent attacks on enlistment officers. He called for a full investigation and punishment of those responsible.
Three separate incidents occurred in different regions. On January 31, a draft officer was shot dead while escorting new recruits to a training center in Poltava Oblast. The alleged perpetrator was caught soon after.
In another attack, an explosive device exploded on February 1 in Rivne, injuring several service members and leaving one seriously hurt. Another explosion occurred on February 2 in Pavlohrad, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, lightly wounding a service member.
Syrskyi demanded that the perpetrators be brought to justice. He emphasized the importance of public support for the military.
Ukraine faces challenges in mobilizing troops and recruiting soldiers due to corruption schemes and ongoing fighting with Russia. Syrskyi acknowledged these issues but stressed that national defense is impossible without public backing for the army and respect for its members.
