The Kurakhove area has emerged as a primary hotspot for combat operations. Ukrainian forces have repelled 52 Russian attacks on a single day.
Oleksandr Syrskyi, commander-in-chief of Ukraine’s Armed Forces, said that Ukrainian forces are currently containing “one of Russia’s most powerful offensives since full-scale invasion started.”
Syrskyi told a Czech military delegation that the situation at the front remains complex during his meeting.
Russian forces continue their ground offensive in east Ukraine, gaining territory steadily and capturing villages close to key frontline cities. The Ukrainian military reported 145 combat encounters in the past day. The Kurakhove area saw the most intense fighting, with Defense Forces repelling 52 attacks.
