Syrskyi, commander-in-chief of Ukraine’ Armed Forces, said that forces are currently containing “one of Russia’s most powerful offensives since full-scale invasion started.”
Syrskyi told a military delegation that the situation at the front remains complex during his meeting.
Russian forces continue their ground offensive in east Ukraine, gaining territory steadily and capturing villages close to key cities. Russian advances, while incremental, have secured several settlements over the past few months, especially around Avdiivka. This was after months of intense combat that Russian forces won in 2024.
The Ukrainian military reported 145 combat encounters in the past day. The Kurakhove area saw the most intense fighting, with repelling 52 attacks.
