Hungarian Minister Visits Serbia
Hungary’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Peter Szijjarto, visited Serbia on Thursday. He met with his Serbian counterpart, Marko Djuric, in the capital city of Belgrade.
Szijjarto said that Hungary is watching what’s happening in Serbia and believes there are attempts to destabilize the country. However, he added that stability and peace in Serbia are important for Hungarians.
The Hungarian minister praised President Aleksandar Vucic and the Serbian Government for their efforts to improve relations between the two countries. He also expressed Hungary’s appreciation for Serbia’s potential role in European integration.
Szijjarto criticized the EU for blocking Serbia’s path to membership. He said this is unfair and that Serbia should be allowed to join the EU.
The minister emphasized that the governments of Hungary and Serbia value their relationship with each other. This, he said, is important because a new world order is emerging.
Szijjarto praised US President Donald Trump for his patriotic policies. He believes Trump‘s approach will lead to a shift in global politics away from international interference in other countries’ affairs.
