Leaders of the opposition party, United National Movement, want to question many people at a court hearing today. They include members of the District Election Commission and experts.
The leaders say that three audit reports on the recent election are unclear and raise many questions. They want these people questioned so they can get more information about what happened during the election.
Tamar Kordzaia, one of the party’s leaders, said: “We demand to question the members of the District Election Commission as witnesses. We also want experts and specialists to be questioned about the audit report.”
The opposition party wants a re-examination of evidence related to how votes were kept secret during the election. They also want more information from the Central Election Commission.
“We have asked for documents, but we haven’t received anything,” said Kordzaia. “We feel like the court has already made up its mind and won’t make a fair decision.”
