Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze has announced that the City Hall is starting the design work for the renovation of Vera Park.
Kaladze said that the existence of recreational areas in the city was fundamentally important. He added that in the last few years, the city has been equipped with a number squares and parks.
“This is important for the future generations, our health.” We continue to work towards this goal. The capital has a lot of potential and resources. I am pleased to inform you that we have decided, in close collaboration with the Asian Development Bank to renovate Vera Park. The co-participatory plan of Vera Park is the best example for the proper development and promotion of green spaces that promote citizen integration and engagement. This is the first time an international financial institution has participated in the implementation of a project,” Kaladze stated.
The park’s condition is grave, as the mayor pointed out. Pre-project research, a detailed design project and construction work are required for a full-scale rehabilitation. Kaladze said that Vera Park was a cultural heritage site, and so special attention would be paid to preserving its original condition.
