The second edition of Italian Embassy Cup celebrated strong friendship between Italy and Georgia in the field football, with a special guest.
Javier Zanetti – the Vice President of Inter Milan, and legend of the club conducted a training session for 500 children at the Inter Academy of Georgia on April 21.
Marco Monti, the technical director of Inter academies and the Inter delegation were also present.
Zanetti, the director of New Vision University’s academy, Ana Tsereteli, and Davit Kereselidze, the chairman of its academic council, visited the foundation to assess the infrastructure.
Zanetti gave a press briefing and answered questions from different media representatives. In the evening he attended a gala where he was introduced to Georgian dances, songs and art.
The Inter legend met with members of Inter Club Georgia where there were also representatives from Inter fan clubs of Azerbaijan, Armenia and Azerbaijan. He then presented young participants of Inter Milan and Saburtalo FC participating in the competition. After that, he visited residence of the Italian Ambassador, gifting the Italian Embassy an unique black and blue commemorative shirt.
Javier Zanetti was particularly appreciated by the young people who participated in the Italian Embassy Cup, which is organized annually by the International Foundation of Sport, Tourism and Youth of Georgia. The message was that football academies must not only improve their sporting skills, but should also support the human development of the young generations.
Javier Zanetti returned to Spain with positive emotions and impressions after a 2-day visit.
