**NGOs to Lose Power in Decision-Making Process**
The Georgian Parliament has approved a package of legislative amendments that will limit the role of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in the public decision-making process. The final vote was made today, with 81 votes in favor.
**14 Laws Changed**
Fourteen different laws have been amended to remove the mandatory participation of NGOs in the public decision-making process. This includes changes to the Rules of Procedure of the Parliament and other relevant laws.
**Changes to Key Positions**
As a result of these amendments, candidates for key positions will no longer be selected through NGO nominations. For example, candidates for the Prosecutorial Council and the disciplinary board of Judges will now be chosen in different ways.
**NGOs Funded from Abroad**
The ruling party claims that NGOs funded from abroad have compromised the decision-making process. They argue that these organizations serve the interests of external forces rather than the local community. According to this view, their actions hinder effective state governance and implement foreign agendas.
