**Canada Sends New Aid Package to Ukraine**
Canada is sending a new aid package worth $587 million USD to Ukraine. This money will be used for military assistance, which includes ammunition, training, and other things that Ukrainians need to fight.
The Canadian government has been helping Ukraine since 2022 when Russia invaded the country. In total, Canada has given over $5.4 billion in aid to Ukraine. This is a record amount of money and more than any other country has given per person.
The new package includes:
* $282 million USD for military equipment
* $32 million USD to help remove landmines from Ukraine’s soil
* Money to make Ukraine’s computer systems safer from cyber attacks
**Most of the Money is for Military Aid**
The Canadian Defense Minister, Bill Blair, said that the aid will be used to help Ukrainians win their fight against Russia.
Some politicians in Canada voted against giving this money. However, most of them agreed it was a good idea to keep sending aid to Ukraine.
The Senate needs to approve the spending increase now, and then the Canadian government can start using the money to send more aid to Ukraine.
