**Civil Society Groups Challenge Election Results**
Two organizations, Transparency International Georgia and the Civil Society Foundation, have submitted a joint statement to the Constitutional Court of Georgia. The statement concerns a lawsuit filed by President Salome Zurabishvili on November 16.
The court case is about the official results of the October 26 parliamentary elections. President Zurabishvili’s lawsuit challenges these results, saying they should be declared unconstitutional. She claims that there were problems with ballot secrecy and universal suffrage during the election.
**Electoral Violations Exposed**
The statement from Transparency International Georgia and the Civil Society Foundation highlights evidence of electoral violations collected by observers on election Day. These included issues with universality, equality, ballot secrecy, and voters’ free expression of will.
A separate group, My Vote, also observed the elections and found widespread problems. They reported voter buying, intimidation, and other inappropriate activities that affected the true results of the election.
**Court Decision Yet to Come**
The Constitutional Court has not yet decided on whether to consider President Zurabishvili’s lawsuit. The court must first decide if it can hear her appeal.
