**Ukrainian Court Sentences Russian Actor to 10 Years in Prison**
A Ukrainian court has sentenced a Russian actor to 10 years in prison and ordered the confiscation of his apartment. The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) reported on November 20 that Vladimir Mashkov was convicted for war propaganda.
Mashkov is a supporter of President Vladimir Putin and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. He has performed at pro-war events and was a co–chairman of Putin’s election headquarters during the 2024 presidential election.
The court found that Mashkov used his position as head of a theater to spread Russian ideology to a large audience. The apartment in Odesa, which is valued at 147 square meters, will be confiscated by the Ukrainian government.
Mashkov did not appear in court and currently resides in Russia. The Prosecutor General’s Office said that he was responsible for spreading propaganda through his work.
