Trial Held for Protest Detainees
The Tbilisi City Court held a trial for people arrested during a protest. Sandro Metreveli, Nika Beridze, and Nika Svanidze were among those on trial.
Sandro Metreveli was fined 2,300 GEL (Georgian Lari). He was the only one to receive a fine. Nika Beridze and Nika Svanidze were released with verbal warnings.
Nika Beridze said she was standing on the sidewalk when police suddenly moved towards her. She claimed not to have done anything wrong.
Sandro Metreveli’s lawyer, Nino Lominadze, reported that her client had injuries during his arrest. She provided information to the investigative body about this incident.
