Court Fines Activist for Blocking Road
A Tbilisi court has fined Nana Malashkhia, a leader of the “Coalition for Change”, 500 GEL. She was found guilty of breaking administrative laws during a rally on November 17.
Malashkhia and her supporters had blocked the road near the Technical University in Tbilisi. They were protesting against the government‘s decision to block their demands for re-election.
The court’s decision has not changed Malashkhia’s mind. She says she is more determined than ever to continue fighting against the government. “We will not back down,” she said. “I was a victim of physical violence, and I will keep on fighting.”
Malashkhia believes that the court’s decision was unfair and politically motivated. Two representatives from the Ministry of Internal Affairs were present in the courtroom.
She is now more determined than ever to see an end to the Russian regime.
