Daniel Kostoval is the new ambassador of the Czech Republic to Moscow. He was a diplomat, and a former deputy minister of defense. His term will begin in early 2025, after a nearly three-year hiatus.
The Czech Republic will appoint its new ambassador to Moscow. This will mark the return of an important diplomat to Russia following a break of nearly three years.
Vitezslav Pivonka was the last Czech ambassador in Russia. He left his post at the end of May 2022. Since then, the Czech Embassy in Moscow has been led by lower-level officials, with Jan Ondrejka serving as charge d’affaires.
According to CTK citing the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs Daniel Kostoval will assume this role at the beginning of 2025. He is a former deputy minister of defense.
