Georgian Dream Plans Punish Drug Offenders with “Mandatory Treatment”

The Georgian Dream plans to punish people who are convicted of drug-related crimes. The party’s leader, , said this during a meeting March 17. He explained that this punishment will only be given special cases.

This means that not all people who are convicted of drug crimes will have to undergo treatment. Only those involved in more serious crimes will face this penalty.

Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili visited India recently to take part in a big conference called the Raisina Dialogue. She met with other and took part in a discussion about global issues.

Levan Varshalomidze, a politician who used to be in charge of the of Adjara, was arrested in Kazakhstan on March 18. His party says he might be sent to because of something he did while working for Ukraine.
