The Russian attack on Zaporizhzhia injured 15
Local officials report that a Russian missile strike in the middle of Zaporizhzhia resulted two deaths and fifteen injuries.
The attack, which took place in the morning of the 21st October, targeted the center of the city, causing damage to civilian infrastructure including a kindergarten.
Fedorov said that medical personnel continue to examine injured patients and provide the necessary assistance.
According to Governor Fedorov, this incident follows a night attack in Zaporizhzhia which injured one person.
The larger assault involved a drone attack of a large scale, with Ukrainian air defense force intercepting 59 of 116 drones launched from Russian forces. The drones were downed over multiple regions including Odesa and Mykolaiv oblasts, as well as Vinnytsia oblast, Khmelnytskyi oblast, Zhytomyr oblast, Kyiv oblast, Sumy oblast, Kirovohrad oblast, Cherkasy oblast, Chernihiv oblast, and Poltava oblast.
Zaporizhzhia, a strategic Ukrainian city, is located in the southeast. It is Europe‘s biggest nuclear power plant and a vital industrial center. It and the oblast are frequently targeted by Russia due to their strategic importance in controlling central Ukraine.
