Benjamin Netanyahu, Israeli prime minister, said that Hamas, a Palestinian militant group which runs Gaza, has suffered “unexpected blows”. He added that operations would continue “for as long as necessary to restore calm” among Israeli citizens.

Gaza has seen the death of at least 215 people in total, including nearly 100 women and children. In Israel, twelve people, including two kids, were killed.
