**Opposition Parties Call for EU Help in Georgia**
Four opposition parties in Georgia have sent a urgent message to the European Union. They want the EU to help protect democracy and human rights in their country.
The opposition leaders are worried about the current situation in Georgia. They say the government is not following democratic rules, and people are being hurt during protests. The opposition also says that an upcoming election is not fair.
The parties want the EU to do several things:
* Release all politicians and protesters who have been arrested.
* Put sanctions on people who are breaking democratic rules.
* Stop officials from traveling freely in Europe if they are connected to the current government.
* Publicly condemn violence against peaceful protesters, journalists, and activists.
* Not talk to the current government until it agrees to hold fair elections.
The opposition leaders want the EU to support Georgia’s democracy. They say the people of Georgia are resisting a government backed by Russia.
The signatories of the message are:
* Nika Melia (Coalition for Change)
* Tina Bokuchava (Unity – National Movement)
* Mamuka Khazaradze (Strong Georgia – Lelo, for the People, for Freedom)
* Zaza Tavadze (Gakharia – For Georgia)
