The French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs expressed concern about recent developments, following the publication of the first findings of OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights on the legislative election in Georgia. These findings indicate “pressure, intimidating and intimidation” of voting and “democratic regress” – the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs wrote of the legislative election in Georgia held on October 26.
“We expect the Georgian government to investigate the violations that were revealed before and during the vote and to implement the recommendations of the OSCE, and the Council of Europe Commission for the Protection of Democracy through Law (known as the Venice Commission).
The statement concludes that “respect and protection of the fundamental freedoms, as well as political pluralism and the civil society is needed for Georgia to confirm their European basis.”
