**Georgia’s 2025 Budget Approved**
On December 10, the Georgian Dream MPs in Parliament approved the country’s 2025 state budget. The vote was with 88 votes in favor.
The new Finance Minister Lasha Khutsishvili presented the budget project to Parliament. It includes projections for economic growth of 6% next year, with an average inflation rate expected to be around 1%.
**Budget Details**
The total volume of state budget allocations has increased by GEL 895.2 million (around $9.9 billion) compared to the previous budget. The new budget amounts to GEL 27.9 billion.
Here’s how the money will be allocated:
* Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons, Health, Labour and Social Affairs: GEL 8.82 billion ($3.14 billion)
* Education, Science and Youth: GEL 3.09 billion ($1.1 billion)
* Culture: GEL 297.6 million ($105.9 million)
* Sports: GEL 298.4 million ($106.2 million)
* Regional Development and Infrastructure: GEL 3.13 billion ($1.1 billion), including GEL 700.8 million in credits
* Environmental Protection and Agriculture: GEL 808.1 million ($287.6 million)
* Economy and Sustainable Development: GEL 947 million ($337 million)
* Finance: GEL 121 million ($43 million)
* Justice of Georgia: GEL 442 million ($157.3 million)
* Foreign Affairs: GEL 215 million ($76.5 million)
* Defense: GEL 1.73 billion ($615.7 million)
* Internal Affairs: GEL 1.4 billion ($498.2 million), including a 10% raise in police salaries
