**Russia Won’t Be Rejoined to G7**
Germany’s finance minister, Joerg Kukies, said on Feb. 25 that Russia will not be readmitted to the Group of Seven (G7) countries. This decision goes against what U.S. President Donald Trump had suggested.
Trump had said he would “love” to see Russia join the G7 again, calling its expulsion from the group in 2014 a “mistake.” However, Kukies stated that the condemnation of Russia’s war of aggression is clear and that G7 countries will not change their stance on this issue.
**G7 Countries Disagree Over Statement**
The G7 is still discussing a joint statement on the third anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. However, there are disagreements between countries over what to say in the statement. Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Joly said that Canada and other countries do not agree with the position advocated by the U.S.
**U.S. Opposes Certain Language**
The U.S. also opposes using certain language in the joint G7 statement on Russia’s war of aggression in Ukraine. This disagreement has caused delays in drafting a final statement.
**Ukraine Situation Update**

General Assembly approved a Ukrainian resolution condemning Russia’s full-scale invasion, but the U.S., Israel, Hungary, Russia, and Belarus voted against it.
