**Serbian Orthodox Church Leader Calls for Reconciliation**
The head of the Serbian Orthodox Church (SPC), Patriarch Porfirije, has called on feuding politicians to bring peace to the country. He made his appeal at a Christmas morning service in the St Sava Temple.
At the service, Patriarch Porfirije said that the SPC is worried about current events and urged politicians to follow the example of St Sava, who was known for his kindness and forgiveness. The Patriarch mentioned the tragedy in Novi Sad where 15 people lost their lives and expressed hope that God will give strength to those affected by this event.
**Reconciliation Requires Effort**
Patriarch Porfirije emphasized that reconciliation requires more than just prayer and effort from both sides. He said that feuding politicians should hug each other, forgive each other, and reach out to one another.
The Christmas service was attended by the Ministers of Justice and Internal Affairs Maja Popovic and Ivica Dacic as well as Belgrade Catholic Cardinal Ladislav Nemet.
**Protection for Kosovo Serbs**
Patriarch Porfirije also mentioned the plight of Serbs living in Kosovo, who he said have been exposed to harassment and seen their cemeteries and monuments destroyed. He noted that they are one of the least protected nations in Europe.
