Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Talks about Georgia Crisis
The Lithuanian minister says the best way to end the crisis in Georgia is for new elections to be held. He believes that until then, strict measures should stay in place.
The minister wants Georgia to learn from Lithuania’s example. In 1991, Lithuania held a referendum and adopted a declaration of independence, which led to it becoming an independent country. The minister thinks other countries have also followed this approach with success.
New elections are seen as the solution to calm tensions in Georgia.
