**Russian Forces Attempt to Break Through Ukrainian Defenses**

Vovchansk, located just 5 kilometers from the Russian border in Kharkiv Oblast, has been a battleground multiple times. The town was previously occupied by Russian forces until September 2022 when Ukrainian troops liberated it. However, after Russia began a new push into the area in May 2024, Vovchansk faced heavy fighting again, forcing many residents to flee their homes.

According to reports from Khortytsia, Russian forces used three armored vehicles and eight motorized vehicles in the recent assault on Ukrainian defenses. However, Ukrainian forces were able to destroy two Russian armored vehicles and six motorized vehicles. The search and destruction of enemy remnants continue, as per a statement by Khortytsia.
**Increased Attacks**
Maksym Komarenko, deputy commander of the 58th Separate Infantry Brigade’s rifle battalion, confirmed that Russia has increased the number of attacks in the Kharkiv sector of the front line. He also noted an increase in air raids and drone activity near Ukrainian positions and settlements.
**Regrouping and Preparing for a Renewed Assault**
Khortytsia had previously reported that Russian forces were regrouping and preparing for a renewed assault on Kharkiv Oblast. In an official statement, they reported that Russian troops are actively replenishing their units and preparing to resume offensive operations in the region.
