The opposition parties claim that the results of the 2024 parliamentary elections have been “stolen”, and they promise to fight for their votes.
Coalition for Change (Gvaramia Melia Girchi Droa) says that the Georgian Dream must acknowledge the victory of the opposition.
“We have figured out the scheme that was used to steal the elections. We will protect the votes. The authors of this constitutional coup will face consequences that are set by law,” said Nika Gvaramia, one of the leaders in the coalition.
He said that today, the coalition will discuss forgery.
Tina Bokuchava, the chairman of “Unity – National Movement“, says that the opposition has won by a large margin. The coalition “doesn’t recognize the results of these stolen elections”.
“The CEC followed Ivanishvili’s dirty order, and announced the results. This shows that the oligarch stole victory of the Georgians and stole their future in Europe. We declare that the results of the stolen and hijacked election are not acceptable. We will not recognize this stolen result.
“We believe the victory won by people belongs to both the country and to the opposition. The people gave them a mandate of confidence, not to one party.
“We will fight as never before and we will not accept the results stolen elections. We have already met with the future coalition partners, and I am confident that the next government is going to be a coalition. In the next few minutes, we will issue a statement about how we will protect this result. It was a great win for our country,” said Bokuchava.
Natia Mezvrishvili is the Chairperson of Gakharia for Georgia. She says that they have evidence for election fraud and voter corruption. The party has filed complaints with the relevant authorities.
“We will await the announcement of final results. “We will provide these proofs to local and foreign observers in the meantime,” she said.
The coalition “Strong Georgia”, says that preliminary results announced by CEC do NOT correspond to the real wishes of the citizens. The leaders of the coalition have not yet announced whether they will accept the results.
“We are outraged at what the Georgian Dream has dared to write,” Ana Dolidze said.
“What CEC announced is against our citizens’ will.” This is the result illegal instruments, manipulation and intimidation. It cannot reflect the will and the will of our citizens. The support we have received obligates us to fight to protect each vote”, Badri Japaridze said.
Levan Tsutskiridze said, “We will use peaceful and democratic methods to save the democracy of our country and its European future.”
“We were told that the Dream was offensive. We will fight to protect every vote as a responsible force. I will tell you more later,” said Aleko Elsashvili.
